10 Day Belize Birding Trip

Lamanai Outpost

2 Nights

This includes transfer from Airport to Lamanai Outpost Lodge, Room, Meals and 2 Standard Activities per Night Stayed, but we will also be Doing one of the special Adventures.
Activities suggested here are Jungle Dawn, Lamanai Maya Ruins, Nature Walk and Spotlight Safari. Plus, Savannah Birding and Driving on our own. Here, we would be looking for some forest birds like Chestnut-colored Woodpeckers, Rufous-tailed Jacamars, Barred Antshrikes and many more.
During this time, we will also visit Lamanai Archaeological Reserve and witness the greatness of the Mayan Architecture that has survived the natural elements and through time.
Leave Lamanai after Breakfast by road and head to Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary.

Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary

2 Nights

Lunch will depend on arrival time and place will be chosen accordingly and Bird's Eye View Lodge can also be an option
Afternoon birding around the Lodge looking for any waders in the area plus other good birds in the area like Yucatan Woodpecker, Gray-throated Chat, Rufous-breasted Spinetails, Rufousbrowed Peppershrike and many more. Boat ride, and many other goodies in the area. Back to lodge at sunset for shower and dinner.
Early morning boat ride the following day targeting Boat-billed Herons, Agami Herons, Sungrebes, Jabiru Storks, Roseate Spoonbills, Yellow-breasted Crake, Ruddy Crake, Black-collared Hawks, Northern Jacanas and many more any missed targets of the area.
Drive around town after Lunch looking for Yellow-headed Parrots, Yucatan Jays, and other birds in the area like Fork-tailed Flycatchers and Vermillion Flycatchers. Back for dinner at the Lodge.
Leave Bird's Eye to Black Rock Lodge after Breakfast. Lunch can be on the way or at La Milpa.

This includes all Meals, Room, and Boat Ride.

Black Rock Lodge

3 Nights

Dinner at the Lodge and plan for the following day but probably Bird around the lodge depending on targets left after Lamanai Outpost and Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary.
Some of the specialties are the 3 Hawk-Eagles, King Vultures, and Orange-breasted Falcons amongst others Raptors and Forest birds. They also have Bird Feeders which can be quite productive species wise and for Photography.
Day trip to Mountain Pine Ridge to look for many species that can only be found there like Rusty Sparrow, Rufous-capped Warbler, and Black-headed Siskins amongst others. On the way back we would make a stop at Green Hills Butterfly Ranch where they have Hummingbird Feeders which are good for photography or choose other location depending on targets. Back to Lodge for dinner.
Leave Black Rock after Breakfast to take the 12:00pm boat at the Water Taxi.

This includes room, meals and a day trip. Other activities are to be paid at lodge.

Caye Caulker

2 Nights

Boat transfer to Caye Caulker enjoying the beautiful crystalline blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Lunch at the Island enjoying the breeze at a Beach side restaurant that offer various Seafood dishes with a Caribbean style flavour.
Either bird the afternoon or enjoy a nice swim for relaxation and escape the heat of the day.
On the full day at the island, you can choose to do birding or to do snorkelling and admire the amazing aquatic life our Barrier Reef has to offer. (Snorkelling trip not included)

Early Breakfast and leave Island depending on Flight Departure Time. Drop off at Airport for Check in 2 hrs before flight.
